Bayern edge closer to Brown while Saibari talks drag, with Olise off-limits

Main stories

Bayern Munich's move for Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown is reported to be in its final stages, with the deal described as close to completion and a fee said to be just under €65m including bonuses. The German international is understood to favour only a move to Munich, and German media expect it to be wrapped up soon, though it has not yet been confirmed.

The parallel pursuit of PSV Eindhoven's Ismaël Saibari is proving more complicated. According to Bavarian Football Works, the clubs have made progress after a stalemate, but the structure of the fee — reported in the €50-60m range — remains the sticking point, with Saibari's medical earmarked for the United States, where he is at the World Cup.

The champions have again signalled that Michael Olise is not for sale, holding firm against reported Real Madrid interest in the France winger, who is under contract until 2029 with no release clause.

Transfer and squad notes

Bayern are weighing other additions too, with reports they are prepared to make a long-term offer for Hertha Berlin teenager Kennet Eichhorn, while their wider search for a striker rumbles on. None of those moves is agreed.

Across the league, the reshaped benches continue to settle, with Carles Martínez Novell installed at Bayer Leverkusen in place of Kasper Hjulmand and Adi Hütter back at Eintracht Frankfurt, as clubs finalise plans before the window opens on 1 July.

What it means for the league

Bayern's intent is clear: line up a full-back and a forward while resisting outside interest in their best attacker, with fees rather than willingness the main obstacle. Securing both Brown and Saibari would give the champions an early head start on a summer rebuild of their squad.

With the German window not opening until 1 July and many of the principals away at the World Cup, the bulk of this business remains agreed in principle or still under negotiation, and medicals and announcements are being scheduled around international duty.
