Responsible Gambling
Prognosist is a football analysis and prediction platform. We are not a sportsbook, bookmaker, casino or gambling operator. We do not accept real-money bets, and our virtual coins have no real-world monetary value.
However, some users may use football statistics, odds or prediction content while betting on external platforms. If that applies to you, please read this page carefully.
Where Prognosist fits
Prognosist does not encourage anyone to gamble.
Our platform provides statistical football analysis, model-based probabilities and educational explanations. Tipster activity may use virtual coins, points or leaderboard scoring, but these virtual coins cannot be exchanged, sold, withdrawn or converted into money.
You can use Prognosist without depositing money or taking financial risk on our platform.
Any decision to bet real money on an external platform is your own responsibility. You should also make sure that any betting activity is legal in your jurisdiction.
The honest framing
For most people, football betting should be treated as entertainment, not as a reliable way to make money.
Sportsbooks include a margin in their prices. Over time, that margin usually works against the bettor. Even when a statistical model identifies potential value, it does not guarantee profit, remove uncertainty or protect against losing streaks.
Football is unpredictable. Injuries, red cards, tactical changes, poor finishing, late goals and random events can change the outcome of any match.
Predictions are estimates, not certainties.
If you choose to bet
If you choose to bet on external platforms, consider these habits:
- Treat betting as paid entertainment, not income.
- Only stake money you can afford to lose entirely.
- Set per-bet, daily and weekly limits before placing any bet.
- Keep a written record of stakes, wins and losses.
- Never chase losses with bigger stakes.
- Take a break after big wins and big losses.
- Do not bet when angry, stressed, tired or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
A good rule is simple: if losing the stake would affect your rent, bills, food, family, debt payments or mental health, do not place the bet.
Warning signs
The behaviours below may indicate gambling-related harm. If two or more apply, it may be time to step back and seek support:
- Betting more than you planned.
- Increasing stakes to recover previous losses.
- Borrowing money to bet.
- Hiding betting activity from people close to you.
- Feeling restless, anxious or irritable when not betting.
- Lying about how much time or money you spend on betting.
- Missing work, sleep, study or social commitments because of betting.
- Continuing to bet despite financial, emotional or relationship problems.
- Treating betting as a way to solve money problems.
Seeking help early is a sign of control, not weakness.
Practical tools
Most regulated betting platforms offer tools that can help you stay in control:
Deposit limits
Set a maximum amount you can deposit over a chosen period.
Loss limits
Limit how much you can lose before the platform blocks further betting.
Time limits
Restrict how long you can stay logged in or active.
Reality checks
Use reminders that show how long you have been betting.
Cooling-off periods
Take a temporary break from betting.
Self-exclusion
Block yourself from one or more betting operators for a longer period. In some countries, multi-operator self-exclusion schemes are available.
Blocking software
Tools such as Gamban or BetBlocker can help block access to betting websites and apps on your devices.
Device limits
Mobile operating systems often allow you to limit time spent in specific apps or website categories.
These tools work best when used before betting becomes difficult to control.
Help and support
If you or someone you know is struggling with gambling, confidential support is available.
