Frankfurt set to sell Nathaniel Brown to Bayern in a near-record deal

What happened

Eintracht Frankfurt are on the verge of selling left-back Nathaniel Brown to Bayern Munich, with the clubs reported to have agreed a transfer fee of around €55m. According to German and specialist reporting, only final details over the structure of the deal remain to be clarified, with the Germany international understood to be set on the move to the champions.

Why it matters

A completed transfer would rank among the biggest sales in Eintracht Frankfurt's history and hand them a substantial windfall to reshape their squad. It would also strengthen Bayern at full-back as part of a busy summer, running alongside their agreement to sign PSV's Ismaël Saibari, and underline the pull the champions still exert over the Bundesliga's best young talent.

Context

Brown, who is contracted to Frankfurt until 2030, established himself as one of the division's most coveted full-backs, and Frankfurt initially sought a higher fee — reported at €60-65m — before the figure converged towards €55m. The sale comes as Frankfurt prepare for next season under the returning Adi Hütter, who is back at the club for a second spell, with the German window not opening until 1 July.

What to watch next

The immediate focus is whether the final details are ironed out to complete the deal, and how quickly it can be formalised once the window opens. Beyond that, attention turns to how Frankfurt reinvest the proceeds under Hütter, and whether Bayern get both Brown and Saibari over the line to complete their planned double signing. Neither move is yet official.
